I need to know more! What is Mind the Chap all about?
- Mind the Chap brings to the style-conscious man, and to those that may need just a little more help, the opportunity to update their wardrobes with the most interesting and unique, emerging independent designers and brands from all over the globe. Our mission at Mind the Chap is to find and supply you with edgy brands that have unique points of view and novel design approaches, high quality craftsmanship and extremely limited distribution. These are not the brands your friends are wearing but they are the ones your friends will be asking you about.
Who is the Chap and how did he get so wise?
- After searching far and wide, Lisa and Sapna came across the “Chap” at no other place than the lobby of the Ace Hotel in NYC. After a charming conversation about the camo oxford shoes the Chap was wearing, the girls knew they had their style expert. A sophisticated gentleman with a unique fashion sense groomed from Savile Row and his global traversing, the Chap brings fashion and style advice you can trust and easily incorporate into your daily life. This site is cool, how do I create an account?
- Glad you like it! To create an account click on the My Account link at the top right corner of your screen. From there you will be able to register your information and sign up for emails and special offers from Mind the Chap.
Do I need to have an account to buy something?
- Yes, you do need to create an account to make a purchase. That way you can check back on your past orders, sign up for emails and get on the list for special offers.
How can I pay for all this stuff in my cart?
- By credit card! We accept American Express, Master Card, Visa and Discover.
Ordering & Fit
Hey, why does it feel like everything is sold out?
- In keeping with our “seek individuality” theme, we carry very low quantities of the items on our website – so that every guy on the street isn’t wearing the same shirt you are. Because of that, items may sell out quickly.
An item I want is not in stock. Now what?
- In keeping with our “seek individuality” theme, we carry very low quantities of the items on our website. On an item by item basis, we may be able to beg the designer to give us just one more to fill your order. Please email us directly with the item name as well as the size and color you are seeking. We will do our best to get your item and send you an email with an update on its availability.
I’ve got issues (not personally but with my order), so who do I talk to?
- Please contact Customer Service at support@mindthechap.com. We will respond to your inquiries within 24 hours. We ask you to provide your email address and telephone number so that we may be able to contact you directly with a solution.
I can’t tell if these pants are going to fit me. Help!
- We hear you – it can be hard to gauge how clothing fits online. So to help you out with that, we’ve given you as much info as possible. For each item, we’ve included the product dimensions, the measurements of the model wearing it and some color commentary on how to order the size that will work best for you. If you order an item and it just doesn’t fit, we’re happy to exchange it or refund it.
Shipping & Returns
I live in Ibiza (lucky me!). Do you ship there?
- Right now, we only ship to U.S. addresses, but we’re working on international shipping and hope to add that soon.
I procrastinated on my order and now I need it tomorrow. Can you get it to me?
- Sure we can, if you place your order by 11am today. See our Shipping Policies for more details.
I need to return something.
- Maybe that pink sweater screamed “buy me!” initially and now it’s just not for you. See our Return Policy for more information on how to get a return authorization and send it back to us.
I need to exchange something.
- We will try our best to exchange your item for another size or color. At times, we are unable to do as we have limited quantities of each item on our site. The upside of that? You get to wear the coolest, most unique pieces around. The downside? Sometimes we just don’t have any more of that item to make an exchange for size or color. See our Return Policy for more information.
I hate taxes. Am I going to have to pay sales tax on my order?
- Mind the Chap collects sales tax for items shipped to addresses in the state of New York. All other orders are tax-free, at least for now (because those darn sales tax laws seem to change day by day).

I need more Chap in my life. How do I subscribe to your emails?
- If you are a registered user of Mind the Chap, simply login into My Account and update your preferences to receive emails from us. If you are not yet a registered user, please create an account by clicking on the My Account link at the top right corner of your screen. From there you will be able to register your information and sign up for emails and special offers from Mind the Chap.
I’ve got questions (for the Chap, that is!). How do I submit them?
- Please email all your questions to ask@mindthechap.com. The Chap will answer your style questions, what to wear questions and pretty much anything else you want to know about menswear!
Models
I’m sexy and I know it! How do I model for Mind the Chap?
- Glad you’ve got such great self-esteem! Mind the Chap holds regular open model calls. But be aware there’s no Blue Steel on our site. We’re looking for guys between the ages of 25-45 with a unique fashion and style sense who can represent the eclectic individualism of the brands we carry. Experienced or not, we’re after a look not the “model” skill. So as long as you don’t hate cameras (doesn’t sound like you do!) or wearing cool clothes then you could be the chap we’re looking for. Sound interesting then send us a headshot along with your height, chest, waist and inseam measurements to models@mindthechap.com. We shoot every month so you could be the next face of Mind the Chap!
